About us Tech21 Sensor GmbH designs touch sensors and user interface software that simplify interaction with mobile electronics. The core technology was invented by Oliver Völckers in 1998 and has been developed continuously since then.
Tech21 sensors can be used to create touchpad-keyboard combinations for mobile phones and to optimize analog controls for hand-held tools, kitchen appliances etc.
For production, Tech21 co-operates with suppliers and manufacturers. The company supplies and licenses components to device manufacturers. The company's technology is protected internationally by more than 50 patent applications.

Oliver von Sperber CEO
Oliver von Sperber joined the company in 2006 in its stealth start-up phase. Oliver has a background in corporate finance and M&A. He was Founder and Managing Partner at CatCap GmbH, the best-known corporate finance boutique for knowledge-based companies in Germany. Prior to launching CatCap, he worked as Corporate Finance Consultant at Berenberg Bank in Hamburg. He has studied business administration and economics at the Universities of Munich and Witten/Herdecke.
Oliver Völckers Founder and CTO
Oliver Völckers has a long career in sensor development and embedded software. He was previously with IEE S.A in Luxembourg, a sensor manufacturing company for the automotive industry. As Program Manager, he extended the product range to mobile devices. Before IEE, he was Product Manager at Biotronik GmbH & Co. KG in Berlin. Biotronik is among the leading manufacturers of cardiologic implants worldwide. At Biotronik, he created pen- and finger-operated devices and user interfaces for medical applications. Oliver made his degree in computer science at the Technical University of Berlin. He has filed over 50 patents internationally.
Christian Lindholm Chairman
Christian Lindholm is also partner at Fjord, a leading European cross-platform design agency with offices in Berlin, Helsinki and London. Prior to joining Tech21 and Fjord he was Vice President of Global Mobile products at Yahoo. He spent 10 years at Nokia where he was Director User Interface. He is the inventor of the Nokia Navi-key user interface, one of the most deployed mobile phone user interfaces. He is also the father of the Nokia Series 60 user interface, the world's most used smartphone platform. Christian holds several patents in SW and HW. He is a technology columnist for Forbes and writes a blog at www.christianlindholm.com.
